Project Shikshan - Phase Pradhi Community Support

Under Project Shikshan, Cerebral Palsy is now supporting the education, food, and hostel facilities of 40 students from the Shri Krishna Kripa Bahudeshya Phase Pardhi Samaj Vikas Sanstha, belonging to the Phase Pardhi community in Buldhana, Mehkar, Chikhli, and Shegaon, Maharashtra. The Phase Pardhi community faces severe socio-economic challenges that require immediate and sustained intervention. By addressing their basic needs and providing educational support, we aim to improve their living conditions and give the children a chance for a better future.

Dental Health Education Program Bhopal 2024

Bhopal branch of CPAI, in collaboration with Bhabha College of Dental Science, organized a free dental health education program and camp specifically for differently abled children. This initiative aimed to provide essential dental care and education to enhance the overall oral health of the children. The program featured a team of dedicated professionals and students from Bhabha College of Dental Science, making it a comprehensive and impactful event. The camp was highly beneficial for the 40 differently abled students who participated. They received valuable dental health education, practical demonstrations, and personalized advice tailored to their needs.

International Yoga Day 2024

Observing International Yoga Day with yoga sessions involving both young kids & adults was a wonderful way to promote physical and mental well-being in Mumbai & Bhopal. Practicing different yoga asanas (postures) offered participants the opportunity to improve their flexibility, balance, and overall physical health. Meditation helped in relaxation, stress reduction, and promoting mindfulness. The combination of physical postures (asanas) and meditation reflected a holistic approach to health that addresses both the body and the mind.

CEREBRAL PALSY AWARD 2024

Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI) and media partner Maharashtra Times hosted the prestigious CP Award ceremony at Mumbai University Convocation Hall. This esteemed event, graced by renowned Indian Nuclear Scientist Mr. Anil Kakodkar as the chief guest, aimed to recognize and honor the remarkable achievements of individuals and institutions with cerebral palsy who have demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination. Heartfelt tributes were paid to the awardees, celebrating their inspiring journeys and unwavering courage. CPAI presented awards (Cash & Memento) to five individuals and four institutions for their outstanding contributions in various fields, from academic excellence to social impact initiatives. The CP Award ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the power of perseverance and the resilience of the human spirit. It celebrated achievements while reaffirming the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and empathy in creating a more equitable and compassionate society. Attendees left with a renewed sense of hope and admiration for the remarkable individuals and institutions honored.

Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024

Students and staff members of the Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI) in Mumbai showcased their spirit and determination as they participated in the prestigious TATA Mumbai Marathon 2024 under the category of Champions with Disability. Despite facing various challenges associated with cerebral palsy, they emerged as champions, completing the 1.3-kilometer race with remarkable enthusiasm and determination. As champions in their own right, the participants from CPAI Mumbai have left an indelible mark on the TATA Mumbai Marathon, inspiring countless others to pursue their dreams and break barriers, one step at a time. 

Voting Awareness Rally 2024

CPAI students, with vibrant play cards in hand and unwavering enthusiasm, participated in an Awareness Rally to highlight the importance of the right to vote. Supported by Dr. Bagyashree Varma (Professor of Literature, English Department) and Mrs. Vasanthi Karithavan (Professor of Physical Education) from Mumbai University's Kalina Campus, these extraordinary individuals led a powerful movement for voting awareness. In a world where every voice deserves to be heard, these students are breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes, proving that disability does not define capability. They are leading the charge for voting awareness like never before. #VoteForIndia

Our Students enjoyed a delightful day filled with Rakhi making, puppet making activities, and a delicious lunch, Grateful to the enthusiastic participation of 75 corporate volunteers from Abbvie Gives Back – Employee volunteering, giving & support This event highlighted the positive impact of corporate volunteerism, creating cherished memories and reinforcing the importance of inclusive, supportive environments for all.

Exhibitions to showcase our hand made products made with love by the Special Needs Adults

Cerebral Palsy association of India conducts exhibitions in various corporate companies and banks – various branches of HSBC, Axis Bank, HPCL, Edelweiss, NSDL, , TV 18 Broadcast Ltd. . We exhibit handmade products prepared by our PDA’s like Diyas, Torrans, Rangoli, Designer envelopes, Designer paper bags, Lakshmi charan, Jewellery, Greeting cards and Shubh Labh. These exhibitions give us a platform to showcase the talents of our PDA’s. We get opportunities to raise awareness as to how the PDA’s can also be contributing members of the society.

Volunteering activity -
First Source Solutions

A heartwarming event took place as volunteers from First source Solutions spent a day engaging with special needs students through dance, crafts, and drawing activities. The day began with an enthusiastic welcome from the students, and volunteers quickly connected with them, creating a fun and bonding atmosphere. Dance sessions were a highlight, featuring lively music and infectious energy, allowing students to express themselves freely. Volunteers also gained insight into the various challenges faced by children and adults in basic art and craft activities. The volunteers' genuine care and commitment made the students feel valued and included. The event concluded with heartfelt goodbyes and promises of future visits, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfillment and joy. This day showcased the positive impact of community involvement and the joy of shared experiences in fostering inclusive environments.

World CerebraL Palsy Day 2023

Each year Cerebral palsy Association of India is celebrating World cerebral palsy day. In 2023 we conducted Annual Day at the Bhopal Center and Sports Day at the Mumbai Center. It was heartening to see participants showcasing their abilities and enjoying the event. It's a wonderful step towards creating a world where everyone is celebrated for their unique strengths and contributions.

World Disability Day 2023

On World Disability Day, a remarkable event took place at Chembur organized by HPCL, where adults with disabilities (PwD) were given a platform to showcase their incredible dancing talent. Alongside their performances, there were other captivating presentations from Special Schools, making it an inclusive and inspiring event. The celebration on World Disability Day at Chembur served as a reminder of the importance of providing equal opportunities and recognizing the immense talent and capabilities within the disabled community. It was undoubtedly a day of inspiration, unity, and celebration of diversity.

World Autism Day

On April 2nd, CPAI celebrated World Autism Awareness Day, dedicated to raising awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and promoting acceptance and understanding for individuals with autism. The day was filled with meaningful activities and informative sessions. The highlight of the celebration was a painting activity, chosen for its therapeutic and enjoyable benefits for individuals with autism. Painting not only encourages creativity but also enhances cognitive skills, making it a fitting way to commemorate the day. Dr. Rajini Mani, Clinical Psychologist at CPAI, conducted an orientation session for parents of the school's students on ASD. The session aimed to provide insights into ASD, strategies for supporting children with autism, and fostering understanding among parents. This event not only celebrated the unique talents and strengths of individuals with autism but also highlighted CPAI's dedication to enhancing their well-being and integrating them into the broader community with dignity and respect.
