With a humble beginning and keeping human relations above all Cerebral Palsy Association of India and it’s unit Happy Hours Workshop for P.D.A.’s (People With Different Abilities) was initiated in the Year 1968, by a set of dedicated parents of individuals with special needs. The aim was SERVING COMMUNITY, ENRICHING LIFE. Housed in bright and airy premises with large comfortable classrooms and activity areas, the workshop is student’s delight. Here we welcome P.D.A.’s (People with Different Abilities) by providing engagement and helping them to be a part of the integrated social framework. Giving the parents some free time to focus on their own lives.
Devanshi Parikh is 24 years old and has hearing and speech impairment. She is a classical dancer and has performed at Smitalay Annual function 2014. She is good in craft work, making gift articles like Diya, toran, Rakhi etc. and selling the articles at various places.
Geetesh Mahapatra is Hearing Impaired and suffers from speech recognition issues.He has passed his SSC from National Open and trained in retail sector training. At present he is working in Love & Late Café and he does his job very diligently. Love & Late Café manager is so impress to see is work and given 2 time increment his salary.
Sahil Shaikh is 18 years old and is born with border line mental retardation. He is optimistic and an avid Hip Hop Specialist Dancer and performer. He likes to play Basketball, Volleyball & TT and dedicates his time for his hobbies and skills.
Manali Ravindra Khareis Hearing Impaired and suffers from speech recognition issues. She is classical dancer and Diploma in Animation Software. She is doing Self-Business Named Manali Art Biz. (Specialized In Fabric Collage) and she is doing her own exhibition to the exhibit fabric collage paintings.
Rishi Shahani suffers from Down syndrome is mild mentally retarded. He loves to perform on stage and is the star performer. He is good dancer, singer and keyboard player. He is very talkative and joy full nature. He is working in sports good shop at khar.
Shailesh Bhaumick has border line mental retardation and is a slow learner. But determination, resilience and optimism have enabled him to achieve what few imagined he could: He is a winner of Gold medal in Athens Special Olympics. He has passed his SSC from National Open. Shailesh an avid Hip Hop Specialist Dancer and Singer. Shailesh loves to play Basket ball, Volleyball & TT. He is currently working as a office boy at a Intelenet global services.
SHRIKANT RANE suffers from a number & Letter recognition disability and mild speech disability. He works as an office boy for an Information Technology company and plays Inter corporate Cricket championships. He is an achiever and has won Gold, Silver & Bronze medals at the Athens Special Olympics. Shrikant comes from a poor family, his father works as night watchman. He loves to eat home cooked food.
SMITA SHIGVAN is 33 years old and has hearing and speech impairment. She is Gold Medalist in floor hockey in Athens Special Olympics. She is Classical dancer and has learnt dancing since past 16 years at the institution. She has performed at Smitalay Annual function 2014. Her socio-economic background is very poor and she is the main source of her family’s income.
Jitendra Vyas is born with border line mental retardation. He is optimistic and an avid Hip Hop Specialist Dancer and choreographer. He likes to play Basket ball, Volleyball & TT and dedicates his time for his hobbies and skills. He loves to eat continental food and is fond of ShraddhaKappor, Aashiqui fame. His socio-economic condition is average and needs to be encouraged to earn a livelihood. He is conducting own dance classes for Kids and ladies.
Kimaya Shinde is 29 years old and has hearing and speech impairment. She suffers from mild cerebral palsy and comes from an economically backward family. She is aodissi dancer and has learnt dancing since past 12 years at the institution. She has performed at Smitalay Annual function 2014. Her hobbies are sewing and knitting.
